South International Series Festival will launch a new investment forum in Cádiz in 2027, bringing audiovisual producers and companies together with private financiers, Womack Group announced during this year’s edition.

Called South Investors Week, the event is scheduled for April 30-May 5, 2027, during South’s fifth edition. It is being organized with Mira Anta, an audiovisual investment fund promoted by Womack’s Mira Entertainment Capital and managed by Anta Asset Management. The dates mark South’s move from autumn to spring.

The program will feature project pitches, investment presentations, one-to-one meetings between producers and financiers, and discussions on funding and business models. Organizers said international firms specializing in audiovisual finance are expected to attend, although no participants have yet been named.

The forum is aimed at investment funds and financial institutions as well as production companies, platforms and audiovisual technology businesses. Companies will be able to present projects and expansion plans to potential financial and industrial partners.

Mira Anta Media Capital Fund I, launched in May and registered with Spain’s CNMV financial regulator in June, has a fundraising target of €80 million ($90.1 million).

The fund plans to acquire stakes in audiovisual companies and provide financing for individual productions, including participatory loans tied to presales, distribution agreements and tax incentives, as well as gap financing. Its investment interests also cover virtual production and audiovisual technologies, including artificial intelligence applications.

“Spain’s audiovisual industry has talent, production capacity and an increasingly international reach. Yet it needs new financial tools and specialized capital to realize its full potential,” said José Carlos Conde, president of Mira Entertainment Capital and CEO of Womack Group.

“Investment should not be limited to financing productions; it can also contribute to the growth of companies, infrastructure, technologies and business models,” said Sergio Torras Soler, a financier involved in developing Mira Anta.

Womack produces South and is behind Mira Entertainment Capital, while Anta Asset Management is part of Corporación Financiera Azuaga.

In January, Mexico-based Punta Fina Studios announced a partnership with Womack Studios, the group’s audiovisual production arm, to establish a $47 million fund for developing series, telenovelas and films targeting Latin America and U.S. Hispanic audiences.

South’s fourth edition ran Oct. 30-Nov. 4 in Cádiz, combining series premieres, creative talks and industry events.
