After weeks of wondering who could be up for the mystery James Bond screen test, Deadline has not only found out who the actor is, another suitor was also added to the mix.
While not confirmed, insiders tell Deadline that Robert Pattinson and Nicholas Hoult joined Jack Lowden, Josh O’Connor and Callum Turner in recent screen tests to play the next 007. While it was recently reported that four actors tested, insiders say a fifth test was added at the 11th hour (though it is unknown which actor was that last addition).
Amazon could not be reached for comment.
Deadline hinted at who the potential suitors were earlier this afternoon with confirmations coming tonight:

The process to find the next 007 goes back to the spring, when the studio announced casting director Nina Gold was joining the project and that the search was underway. Following two months of meetings, Deadline reported the first round of auditions would take place in August; since then, the studio, producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman and director Denis Villeneuve cut the list to its final group and worked out test offers in September.
The final tests were originally planned for earlier in October, but due to scheduling conflicts with the finalists, were pushed to the end of the month so they could happen around the same time. While not confirmed, sources say the group was no bigger than five actors, with Turner and O’Connor among the others who would end up testing.
It is unknown when the decision will be made, though most believe it will come by the end of the month and potentially before Thanksgiving. Stay Tuned.

He won “Jack the Giant Slayer” and “Warm Bodies.” But yeah most of his roles have been direct offers – and good offers quite frankly.
That said… He’ll have a colorful career never regretting any of it and maybe become one of the best.
Bond is the kind of character where the actor needs some base athleticism. That doesn’t seem like Pattinson at all, but maybe I’m wrong. It wouldn’t surprise me if we learn he’s like the third-ranked water polo player in the world or something. He has that mystique that virtually no actors have anymore.
I mean he did play Batman to be fair to his athleticism.
Robert Pattinson IS James Bond for this! This is very exciting news. He is a generational talent. Heads and shoulders above the others in every way that counts for this role. Lock him in.
