Wouldn’t want to get in trouble at Bill Skarsgard‘s home, knowing the villains he’s portrayed.

During a recent interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz asked the actor if his children have heard his Pennywise voice.

“Yeah, if they misbehave,” the actor quipped with a laugh. He shares two children with his longtime partner, Swedish actress Alida Morberg.

Skarsgard first portrayed Pennywise the Dancing Clown, who feeds on children’s fears, in 2017’s It and later in 2019’s It: Chapter Two. More recently, he played the villain from Stephen King’s 1986 novel It in HBO Max’s series It: Welcome to Derry (which has been renewed for a second season).

“He can slip out there,” the actor added. “Can slip in, can slip out and Nosferatu can pop in. There’s a whole colorful bunch of schizophrenic daddy.”

As for Nosferatu, Skarsgard played the vampire antagonist Count Orlok in Robert Eggers 2024 film, which also starred Lily-Rose Depp. The movie follows a terrifying vampire’s dark obsession with a haunted young woman and the deadly plague he unleashes on her German town.

Having already played two iconic horror characters, Horowitz also asked Skarsgard if he’s become more selective about the villain roles he takes on.

“For a villain, it would have to be something that felt original to me, that was something that I hadn’t done before,” The Mosquito Bowl actor replied. “I feel, kind of, spent with those things. But there’s villains [that] could be really fun in different ways and if it’s the right kind.”
